Widely considered to be Argentina's finest tango singer, Martin Alvarado has performed in many major venues and festivals around the world.

Last year he picked up the Latin UK Award for Concert by International Artist of the Year and had his last album released by leading UK-based world music label, Riverboat. The album was praised by critics around the world and was defined by one magazine as the best tango album to be released in recent years.

Alvarado is chiefly renowned for his exceptional tenor voice, and has been described by BBC Radio 3 presenters Mary Ann Kennedy as "completely beguiling" and by Max Reinhardt as "totally mesmerising".

He has also won acclaim for his carefully chosen repertoire which, as well as the some tango and South American classics, includes rarely heard work by Piazzolla, work by some of Argentina's most celebrated composers and poets and some of his own compositions.

Martin Alvarado is Argentina's finest and most significant contemporary tango vocalist.

With his stunning tenor voice, he has achieved wide acclaim across the world over the past ten years, performing at major venues and festivals and often to sold-out concerts.

He is the most exciting voice to have emerged from Buenos Aires' tango scene for decades and his carefully chosen and highly praised repertoire includes old tangos, new tangos, and some rare work by Astor Piazzolla as well as some classic South American favourites

His artistic mission is to take tango beyond the nostalgic cliche and his influences and inspiration to sing are drawn from beyond it and from artists such as Stevie Wonder and former Deep Purple vocalist Glenn Hughes.
